Lecti Centre presented a cultural Black Sea project at Helsinki Book Fair end of October 2013. This book fair is the biggest in Finland with almost 80,000 visitors this year and hundreds of author and book presentations during four rich and eventful days.
For the book fair our partner in Sofia, Elizabeth Kostova Foundation, provided interesting materials about modern Bulgarian authors translated into English. Our partner in Finland, The Christine and Göran Schildt Foundation, arranged a presentation of the project.
The Black Sea project will run during 2014 and take place in Bulgaria and Finland. New books about the Black Sea, readings, lectures, historical and art exhibitions, dance performances and a concert are planned.
Bulgaria is quite unknown in Finland and this is the first time the Black Sea region will be presented in the form of varied and modern cultural activities.
